Nepal makes teas that are amongst the finest in the world, a fact that is largely unheard-of by most consumers.
The reasons – Nepalese teas have always either been blended into other finer teas of the world or sold singularly as high-end teas at huge premiums
without any mention of its origin.
This practice has continually deprived the Nepalese tea producing community of a fair price, progressive development and more importantly in the long term, it’s significance.
Unlike other tea producing countries of the world that spend billions in branding activities, Nepalese tea growing communities find it hard to even sustain themselves due to the lack of resources and support.
We envisaged Rakura – a brand built on our over 40 years of experience,
to defy this status quo by working to change the face of Nepalese tea
while creating sustainability for farmers, producers, community, industry and country.
